Maintain student records.
Take class attendance and maintain attendance records.
Develop Instructional Materials
Assist in the preparation and follow through of daily activities (indoor/outdoor) as the relate to the curriculum.
Monitor Student Performance
Take responsibility for health, welfare, and safety of the children.
Supervise School or Student Activities
Assist in all mealtime/snack time activities and related record keeping.
Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
Assist with overall supervision of toileting and bathroom time.
Clean Facilities or Work Areas
Maintain an environment that is kept orderly, clean, and appealing.
Collaborate with other teaching professionals to develop educational program.
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
Work with other center staff to form a positive, supportive atmosphere.
Discuss student progress with parents or guardians.
Communicate with parents in a respectful and courteous manner regarding students' progress or problems.
Plan educational activities.
Organize and supervise games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
Serve on institutional or departmental committees.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as required.
Attend workshops, conference, and any in-service training sponsored by the center or other educational organizations as approved by the director.
Teach Daily Living Skills or Behaviors
Teach social skills to students by providing a warm, safe, and caring environment that encourages children to grow and explore
Greet each child with a warm and friendly manner.
Interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities.
Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Be sensitive to children’s differences and needs and be willing to adjust program to meet those needs.
Effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
