• Safety
  • Understands and applies personal safety standards and wears common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats
  • Identifies hazardous conditions
  • Maintains material handling equipment
  • Maintains a safe working environment
  • Monitors and reviews information to detect or assess problems
  • Communicates clearly with others to coordinate material handling, movement, and safety concerns
• Inventory Management/ Record Keeping
  • Follows all shipping and receiving procedures
  • Identifies quality and quantity of stock
  • Inputs data, utilizes computerized inventory, records operational or production data
  • Utilizes inventory management system
  • Performs rotation of stocked goods according to protocols
  • Properly stores all goods
  • Sorts and stacks stock
• Material Acquisition/ Pick Up & Delivery
  • Familiar with and uses purchase order forms
  • Identifies vendors, identifies appropriate contacts
  • Reads work orders to determine material or setup requirements
  • Receives order, verifies accuracy, and approves invoice
  • Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards
  • Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
  • Coordinates with department heads to identify shortages or surplus
  • Moves freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, etc. by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment
  • Marks stock items, using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment
  • Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities
• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment
  • Operates, maneuvers, navigates, or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, standard and electric pallet jacks, powered stacker, counterbalance
  • Safely uses hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating goods
  • Maintain material moving equipment in good working condition and perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank
  • Operate forklifts, related cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment
  • Inspect product load for accuracy and safety prior to moving
